AVA Ballet Theatre and the Reno Philharmonic Perform Alice in Wonderland
The spring gala season for the A.V.A. Ballet Theatre opens with the classic ballet Alice in Wonderland on April 21st and 22nd, 2012 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the magnificent score to this wonderful ballet. Re-staged and re-choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne, Alice in Wonderland is the captivating story of Alice’s adventures through the looking glass. The White Rabbit, Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts have starring roles in this fantasy adventure. This classic story is filled with mesmerizing dance, intrigue, comedy and is fun for the entire family.
Professional dancers from Ballet West will also perform as the White Rabbit, Tiger-lily and the Knave of Hearts. The large cast includes many talented dancers from numerous different ballet studios in the Reno area.
The Saturday April 21st performance will be held at 8pm and the Sunday April 22nd performance will be at 2pm. Ticket prices for adults are from $25 to $40. Lilly Collins is set to follow in her father's footstep after being cast as Snow White. Lily will play the fairy tale princess in a Hollywood version of the classic Disney cartoon alongside Julia Roberts playing the Evil Queen. 22 year old Lily,

“Modern daylilies can be amazing, but older ones blend better into most gardens,'' said Scott Knust, head gardener at Old House Gardens in Ann Arbor. “They're not huge or gaudy, and we like their narrower petals and classic lily-like forms.''
As for Kate's bouquet, it was made fittingly of sweet williams, in tribute to her prince, lily of the valley and myrtle (the bouquet contained a sprig of the herb used in the Queen's 1947 wedding bouquet). Lill classifies it as a small cascade,
