The National Trust's top ideas for Mother's Day outings
For mums that love a spot of afternoon tea
Choose between high tea in the Reed Barn Tea Room at Peckover House, or at Anglesey Abbey’s Redwood’s Restaurant (booking is essential! Call 01223 810080), in the surroundings of Lord Lothian's Study at Blickling (0844 8004308) or at Wicken Fen (01353 720274) – most of our tearooms and restaurants offer the perfect spot to enjoy freshly prepared cream teas, cakes and light lunches.
For mums that love the first signs of spring
Celebrate the arrival of spring by watching the frolics of new born lambs at Wimpole Home Farm. You might be lucky enough to witness the live birth of one of Wimpole's rare breed sheep, watch as they gingerly make their first steps or joyously bound around with their siblings in the fields. With several hundred new arrivals expected, there will be lots going on down at the farm.
For mums that love spring flowers
With a surprise around every corner, the gardens of Blickling Hall are a must-see for garden loving mums, especially as the daffodils start to make an appearance. Look out for primroses, crocus, hellebores, azaleas, and lots more besides.
