Trio combines sweet, savory tastes for Chocoholic Frolic fundraiser
The Never Trust a Skinny Chef Kitchens trio making Better With Bacon Chocolate Drops for the Feb. 16 Chocoholic Frolic fundraiser are big-hearted guys.
“I firmly believe in The Arc,” said Steve Roach of Rockford, a consistent member of the Skinny Chef group of friends for a decade, whose membership changes slightly for each fundraiser for which they cook.
The Arc of Winnebago, Boone and Ogle Counties is the beneficiary of Chocoholic Frolic to be held at the Clock Tower Resort & Conference Center, Rockford. The Arc serves more than 200 adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families each month through programs, services and activities.
Other fundraising events Never Trust a Skinny Chefs cook for include The Literacy Council’s 100 Men Who Cook on May 19 and the Chili Shoot-Out in October, which benefits various charities.
So who gets to be the taste-testers among the members to make sure their dishes are delectable? All of them, usually. The trio for Chocoholic Frolic also includes Kurt Osinski and Mark Thompson.
