Hort club enjoys corn roast

On August 25 at 6 p.m. the Vermilion Area Horticultural Society gathered at the CN Station in the park to enjoy its annual corn roast.
During the evening at the short meeting the crowd sang happy birthday to chartered members Vera Cameron who is 86 years young, Fred Fellener 80 years, Ralph Wilson who will be 94 this month, Albertha Vanwagenigen and Margaret Taylor who is 90 years.
Accompanying on the keyboards was Glen Teasdale and Frankie Wolters on his harmonica. The gentlemen provided musical entertainment during the evening. It is always a pleasure to have with us Norma Berg who was historian for the club for years before she moved to Elk Point. Accompanying Norma was Donna Fedorus and Lynn Young from Elk Point.
Farmer's Market meeting will be at the Anglican church on Sept. 15 and 22 at 7:30 p.m.
A big bouquet to Eva Waterfield for getting and cooking the corn.
