SUMMERVILLE The pure numbers behind it all sound almost too good to be true.
Five game, five wins, five shutouts, and only two hits allowed through the entire tournament.
That is exactly what the Nation Ford Lady Falcons softball team did in winning the Azalea Invitational Tournament in Summerville over spring break. They are now 21-2 on the season.
Junior pitcher Bradlee Holeman put up Roy Halladay-type numbers in the tournament as she threw a perfect game and two no-hitters allowing just two hits and no earned runs in 20 innings of work, while striking out 34 batters.
And it wasn't like she was facing bad teams, Holeman and the Lady Falcons beat the No. 2-ranked team in 4A in Summerville High School to win the tournament title. Summerville was 20-2 heading into the championship game.
"Since her no-hitter against York (before the tournament), she has dominated," said Nation Ford head coach Michael Kidd.
